The Nice Family – Around the World was created as a series for all children. And that is how we want it to remain.

However, some children, for various reasons, have fewer opportunities to travel and experience the world in person. We would love for them, too, to discover new countries, places and cultures — for now, with a crayon in hand, through maps, puzzles and shared activities.

Because sometimes, a child’s first great journey can simply happen on paper.

And perhaps, one day, curiosity about the world and the dreams it inspires can become the beginning of a real journey.

What Do We Want to Create?

We are currently working on a programme that will make The Nice Family activity books more accessible to, among others:

residential care and educational facilities,
family-style children’s homes and foster families,
organisations and institutions supporting children with intellectual disabilities,
other organisations working with children who may have limited access to educational materials like these.

We do not want to create separate activity books “for children in need” or a different world designed only for them.

We want to give them the same world, the same joy of discovery, and the same opportunity to dream that we offer to every child.

What Is The Nice Family About?

Each journey combines colouring with discovering the world through maps, fun facts, puzzles and activities.

The activity books come in two difficulty levels — EASY and HARD — so children can explore the same topic in either a simpler or a more detailed and challenging way.

Each title is also available in two language versions — Polish and English. Where appropriate, this means the books can also be used for simple language games and exercises.

The books can create an opportunity for children to spend meaningful time together with an educator, foster parent, teacher, therapist or caregiver — talking, exploring maps, solving puzzles and choosing places they might like to visit one day.

We do not present them as specialised therapeutic materials. Above all, they are designed to be fun, spark curiosity about the world and inspire children’s imagination.

1 + 1

We’re Planning a 1+1 Programme

If the initiative receives enough interest, we would like to launch a special programme: for every activity book purchased, another one would be provided free of charge.

We want the programme to be as simple and accessible as possible for participating institutions, families and organisations.

The programme is currently in development. Before defining its final terms, we are consulting the idea with organisations and individuals who best understand the everyday needs of its future recipients.

What About Printing?

Our activity books are printable PDF publications. Each one contains around 70 pages, approximately 65 of which include EASY and HARD illustrations, shared activities, puzzles and other tasks.

However, there is no need to print the entire book. An educator, parent or caregiver can simply choose and print only the pages they would like to use at a particular time.

We also understand that with more frequent use, the cost of paper and printing supplies — or limited access to suitable printing equipment — may become a challenge.

That is why we are also looking for ways to address this issue.

Friends of The Nice Family Support Network

A community of Friends of The Nice Family is growing around the project, including through our Facebook group.

In the future, we would also like to create a Friends of The Nice Family Support Network within this community — bringing together individuals, local businesses, printing companies, organisations and other partners willing to support a specific institution or family, for example by funding or providing printed copies of the activity books.

We want to make this support as simple as possible and ensure that it reaches the places where it is genuinely needed.

We’re Building This Programme Together

We are not presenting a finished, finalised solution yet.

We are building this programme — and we want to build it well.

That is why we are starting by talking to and listening to those who best understand its future recipients. Their experience will help us decide how the 1+1 programme should work, how best to address printing-related challenges, and what other forms of support may prove useful.

If you represent an institution, a foster family or an organisation — or if you would simply like to help us develop this initiative — we invite you to get in touch.
